We wanted to created a powerful visual experience for Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary celebration. We therefor placed a 360 degree cinema at Gustaf Adolfs Torg which enabled people to experience Gothenburg’s history on a whole new level. The gigantic movie screens were joint together in a huge circle which also functioned as a conspicuous sculpture which aroused curiosity from afar.
The 360 degree cinema displayed filmes of Gothenburg’s history. Watching it from inside felt like stepping right into the film: when the city caught fire the audience got encircled by flames. When the harbor was pictured and ships were sailing along the canal the visitors were as well.
